The Syjuco Museum opens in 2027-2028

Set to open between 2027 and 2028, ART LAB: The Syjuco Museum is spearheaded by internationally-awarded visual artist and poet, Maxine Syjuco— the youngest daughter of Cesare and Jean Marie.

Described by critics as “a visionary of courageous willpower, influence, and giftedness,” Maxine is devoted to bringing her parents’ legacy full circle as the celebrated Home of Philippine Avant-Garde Art.

As Museum Director and Chief Curator, her work involves years of dedication to the meticulous restoration, curation, and archiving of over four decades of monumental material, rare print media, and groundbreaking masterworks.

In establishing ART LAB as a landmark museum of Filipino experimental art, Maxine spotlights the country’s undeniable ingenuity on the global stage— cementing the continued advancement of Philippine art as a major contribution to cultural heritage and world history.
